Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has developed a security guarantees plan for Ukraine, which stipulates that Kyiv's allies must make decisions on military support within 24 hours in the event of a renewed Russian offensive. Meloni's proposal resembles 'NATO-light', which provides a collective defense mechanism without actual membership in the alliance.

The plan stipulates that countries with bilateral agreements with Ukraine should quickly coordinate possible options for providing defense support, economic assistance, and sanctions against Russia in case of an offensive. This initiative became relevant after a meeting at the White House, where Trump agreed to support security guarantees for Ukraine, excluding the send-off of American soldiers but allowing the possibility of air support.

In light of the development of a new security guarantees plan for Ukraine, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni proposes rapid and effective military support in the event of a threat to an ally. This will allow the Ukrainian authorities and the population to feel support and protection from other countries, which is an important step in strengthening the resilience and security of the region.
