Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has decided to intensify attacks on Ukraine's energy and critical infrastructure, anticipating that U.S. leader Donald Trump will not take decisive actions to support Kyiv. According to Bloomberg, citing sources close to the Kremlin, Putin hopes that military escalation will help him coerce Ukraine into negotiations on his terms.

Following the meeting between Putin and Zelensky in Anchorage, Russian troops have increased attacks on Ukrainian sites. Putin is trying to force Kyiv to cede territory in eastern Ukraine and will continue to target Kyiv's energy grid and other infrastructure.

Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with Russia's aggression and proposed strengthening sanctions against Moscow. He urged the European Union to take strong measures before the U.S. takes steps. At the same time, tariffs on China and India for purchasing Russian gas are being considered.

Moscow's strategy is aimed at coercing Ukraine into actions beneficial to Russia. Putin remains unsatisfied with Kyiv's rejection of the terms for concessions and continues escalating the conflict. Ukraine has dismissed Putin's terms, further perplexing the Kremlin.

After the meeting in Anchorage between Putin and Zelensky, Russian attacks on Ukraine have significantly intensified. Consequently, Trump has shown a willingness to strengthen sanctions against Russia, and the European Union is also considering tough measures. Moscow's strategy and Ukraine's disagreement with Putin's terms exacerbate the situation.
