Fallen defender Andrii Soltysyk: the story of a Lviv resident who impeccably knew the history of Ukraine

Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we will remember Andrii Soltysyk.



On December 9, 2025, Ukrainian defender Andrii Soltysyk, known by the call sign Padre, was killed at the front. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Lviv City Council.



Andrii Soltysyk was born on September 25, 1985, in Lviv. He studied at secondary school No. 36 in Lviv, later obtained the profession of a construction technician, and studied veterinary medicine and biotechnology. He worked in sales, was a devoted fan of the football club 'Karpaty', and a patriot of Ukraine.



Heroic deed at the front


Andrii took up arms to defend his homeland during the invasion of Russian occupiers on several fronts. He was awarded the 'For Wound' insignia and was killed on December 9, 2025, while defending Ukraine.



Andrii Soltysyk was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery with the participation of relatives who were left in mourning.



'Glavkom' joins in a moment of silence, honoring the memory of all who perished in the struggle for Ukraine's freedom from Russian aggressors.


By remembering the heroic deed of Andrii Soltysyk, we not only honor his memory but also pay tribute to all Ukrainian heroes who gave their lives for the independence and peace of our country.
