After Losing the Ability to Walk, Talk, Read, and Write, 'Beverly Hills' Star Opens Up
Overcoming a Medical Mystery, Brian Austin Green Thanks His Ukrainian Therapist
Around 10 to 12 years ago, Brian Austin Green lived through a severe neurological crisis. Known for his role in the series 'Beverly Hills,' the actor found himself unable to walk, speak, read, or write. He was about 39 or 40 years old then and married to Megan Fox. In the end, medical professionals were unable to identify an exact cause for his condition.
Green has speculated that the illness might have been connected to internal inflammation, dietary habits, or intense emotional strain. He lists the following as possible factors:
- internal inflammation,
- diet,
- severe emotional stress.
The road back was slow: his recovery lasted about four and a half years, and he had to relearn everything from walking to speaking. During that period, Green began seeing a therapist and gradually recognized that unresolved childhood experiences may have been influencing his well-being. His therapist was originally from Ukraine, and he has expressed gratitude to her for supporting him through recovery.
More recently, in 2022, Green experienced another serious episode. Ulcerative colitis left him confined to bed for roughly six weeks. He considers these challenges major turning points in his personal and professional life, and credits specialists with helping him get through them.
Green’s story highlights the vital role mental health and professional care play in any healing process.
Despite the difficulties, his experience could serve as an example for people facing similar trials. Expert support—especially during life's most challenging moments—can make a lasting difference in emotional and physical recovery.
