A real scandal occurred in Brovary – the chairman of the district council and his deputy were found guilty of corruption offenses. The court established that during a district council session, they voted for their own awards and bonuses, violating the country's legislation.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the specialized river police of the National Police confirmed the facts of the conflict of interest in the activities of the chairman and his deputy. This violation contradicts the laws on the prevention of corruption and local self-government in Ukraine.
For violating legal requirements, both officials face responsibility as well as possible dismissal as a result of the scandalous events in the district council.
As a result of the publicity, the actions of the chairman and his deputy have serious consequences for them personally and for local government as a whole.
