The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kyrylo Budanov confirmed that intelligence officers use various methods to gather information and turn to prostitutes and escorts in particular. According to him, he sees no problem with this. 'There is nothing forbidden if it is necessary for the case. It may sound unpleasant to someone, immoral. But what to do if it's needed?! There is such a way to achieve a goal. I see no problem with it. No one has ever forced or pushed us into such actions. But those who are unmarried, what is the problem?' he replied.

Budanov emphasized that everything works on weaknesses. Indeed, from prostitutes, as he noted, it has been possible several times to obtain unique information that could not be obtained otherwise. He also spoke about 'sleeping agents,' whose working time is limited to seven years. According to him, after this period, a failure is almost guaranteed. 'There are those who work for 10 or 20 years; such cases occur. But statistics show, more globally, not ours, that more than seven years cannot happen,' he explained.

In a conversation with journalists, Kyrylo Budanov revealed some methods and strategies that intelligence officers use to gather information. He also noted that some methods may seem unethical; however, in the context of intelligence activities, they are necessary for achieving the goal.
