Agile GUR leader Kyrylo Budanov admitted that the landing of troops in Pokrovsk was the last hope for changing the situation in the city. After information about the occupation by the Russians, the Ukrainian operation allowed the troops to approach the city. Budanov explained that the situation was critical, and it was this operation that enabled the Armed Forces to provide assistance.
Budanov expressed hope for a successful resolution of the crisis in Pokrovsk thanks to the joint efforts of diplomats and military personnel. At the same time, information about the intensification of hostilities in the city is confirmed. The enemy has suffered losses, and attempts to break through the Ukrainian defense have been unsuccessful. Even the Security Service of Ukraine recorded a case of the occupiers using local residents as «human shields» during the fighting.
