The United States plans to provide assistance to Ukraine, including the possible dispatch of additional air defense systems. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, in an interview with Bloomberg, reports 'Glavkom'.
“Trump's position is consistent, do not judge him by the characteristics of the media. As the head of intelligence, I know more,” Budanov said.
Recently, the US president expressed sharp criticism towards the Kremlin and Putin himself. Trump has repeatedly emphasized that he is disappointed with the Russian leader.
New sanctions
Moreover, Trump threatened to impose new sanctions against Russia, promising an 'unexpected' step.
The president noted that Putin is responsible for a large number of casualties, including Russian and Ukrainian servicemen, stating that 'seven thousand die per week.'
Trump also noted that the war in Ukraine, which was supposed to last only a few days, continues due to the strong armament of the Ukrainian army, which has been equipped by the USA with 'the best weapons ever made.'
Trump's statements have elicited various reactions in Russia. While former president Medvedev advises not to react to the American leader's words, Ukrainian politician Oleg Tsarev sees this as a 'significant event.'
According to Reuters, the USA may allocate up to $300 million for weapons for Ukraine.
The USA continues to support Ukraine, ready to send additional air defense systems and nearly $300 million in weapons. President Trump has expressed deep outrage at Putin's actions and is trying to support the sovereignty and security of Ukraine amid the military conflict situation in Donbas. His statements have elicited various reactions in Russia, but so far the USA continues its assistance to the country.
