Unusual weather in Australia: snowfalls and floods
Over the weekend, several regions of eastern Australia were under the powerful forces of nature - heavy snowfalls, rains, and storms caused one of the strongest winter storms in decades. According to Reuters, New South Wales and Queensland experienced the deepest snowfall in the past 10-20 years.
In the New England region, particularly in the cities of Armidale and Guyra, the snow thickness reached 50 cm, causing mass transportation disruptions and isolating some communities. According to rescuers, over 100 vehicles were stuck, and buildings were damaged due to flooding.
