The state budget for 2026 provides for a significant increase in education funding. A total of 278.7 billion UAH has been allocated for these purposes, which is 79.8 billion UAH more than in the previous year.
The government continues to invest in the development of education, emphasizes the First Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolichev. The increase in salaries for teaching staff is considered one of the key areas of the state's educational policy.
From January 1, 2026, the salaries of teachers, lecturers, and other educational personnel will rise by 30%. A phased improvement of the salary system for educators is also planned starting from September of the following year.
The government allocated 195.3 billion UAH for salary increases, including:
- 160.5 billion UAH for school teachers
- 34.8 billion UAH for higher education institutions and college lecturers
The growth of education funding and salary increases for teaching staff indicate the government's commitment to ensuring quality education and improving working conditions for teachers. This can positively reflect on the quality of learning and the future of Ukrainian education as a whole.
