Ukrainian athlete Alina Bushma amazed everyone with her impressive performance at the SACC Costa Rica Open 2025 tournament, where she became a silver medalist. As the fourth seeded player, Alina demonstrated a high level of play and made it to the finals with stunning victories.
In the second round, she defeated Darlin Sandoval with a score of 3-0 and beat Barb Sameh 3-1 in the quarterfinals. Overcoming Habibi Khani in a tense semifinal battle with a score of 3-2, Alina reached the finals against Amina El Rihani. Although the athlete led the match with a score of 2-1, she lost in five sets, finishing the tournament in second place.
Ukraine placed 10th in the overall medal standings of the European Youth Olympic Festival. Our team won 5 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze medals, recognized as the second most successful performance in the history of the Festivals.
The most awards were won in judo, but successes were also noted by representatives of other sports: swimming, athletics, taekwondo, shooting, rhythmic gymnastics, and table tennis.
