Ukrainian defenders eliminated the Russian occupier Yevheniy Sakhno

Farewell to the Russian occupier Yevheniy Sakhno was held in Volgograd, who died at the age of 21. Sakhno, an athlete since childhood, practiced sambo and judo and was a candidate for master of sports in sambo.

Yevheniy Sakhno went to war against Ukraine after signing a contract during his compulsory service in the Russian army. The occupier's father said that he had been participating in the war since November 5, 2024, acting as a sniper and machine gunner.

However, on July 22, 2025, Yevheniy Sakhno died from blood loss.

The Russian fencer won at the World Championship

Russian fencer Yana Yegoryan won a gold medal at the World Championship, defeating Polish athlete Zuzanna Ceslar with a score of 15:11. Yana Yegoryan is also an ambassador of the Russian public movement 'Healthy Homeland', which actively intervenes in Ukrainian affairs, including the abduction of children.

Recently, the management of the men's volleyball club 'Biloheria' decided to end the training camp in Belgorod due to shelling of the city and move it to Tula. Last season, this club won bronze medals in the Russian Super League.

During the farewell to the Russian occupier Yevheniy Sakhno and the victory of the Russian fencer at the World Championship, bright and contrasting events stood out. In the first case, the death of a young sniper athlete highlighted the brutality and tragic consequences of the war. In the second case, the victory of the athlete raised questions about the overall situation of Russian sports on an international level, emphasizing provocative actions even in the field of sports.
