Large families may lose social benefits: new rules of the Pension Fund of Ukraine

В Україні запроваджують нові умови надання соціальної підтримки для великих родин.

The Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Luhansk region explained how overpayments for state social assistance are collected. It is noted that overpayment for such assistance occurs due to excessive budget funds received by an individual or family based on false data about income and property status.

The Pension Fund explained that the payment of assistance for children in large families may be suspended in cases such as deprivation of parental rights, non-compliance with conditions for raising a child, placement of a child for full state custody, etc.

  • deprivation of parental rights of the assistance recipient,

  • misuse of funds and failure to provide proper conditions for the full maintenance and upbringing of the child,

  • removal of the child without deprivation of parental rights.

If a family concealed information or provided false data leading to overpayment, the authorized body determines the amount of funds to be returned. The sums of overpayments may be returned in three ways: independently, by agreement in full, or collected through court proceedings.

The report of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Luhansk region reveals the reasons for overpayments for state social assistance and the processes for stopping payments in certain cases. It also provides information on the return of overpaid funds in case of providing false data. All these aspects are important for the correct payment of social assistance and prevention of possible fraudulent schemes.
