Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his attitude towards the situation with Russian drones that invaded the airspace of Romania and Poland. He emphasized that these countries immediately took military measures in response to this threat.
“Today Romania scrambled its fighter jets due to a Russian drone in its airspace. As of now, the drone penetrated about 10 kilometers into Romanian territory and operated in NATO airspace for about 50 minutes. Poland also activated a military response to the threat from Russia's strike drones today,” he noted.
According to Zelensky, Russian drones have also been actively operating in various regions of Ukraine, including the northern areas and the border with Belarus. The President emphasized that such aggressive behavior from Russia requires an appropriate response.
“The Russian military clearly understands where their drones are directed, how much time they can spend in the air. The routes are always calculated. This cannot be a coincidence, a mistake, or the improvisation of some lower-level commanders. This is an obvious expansion of the war by Russia, and that's how they do it. First small steps, and ultimately large losses,” Zelensky stressed.
The Ukrainian president stated the necessity to respond to the aggression from Russia, which manifests in their actions using drones at the borders with other countries as well as on the territory of Ukraine.
