Tense situation in Kup'yansk

The situation in Kup'yansk remains extremely tense due to the shelling by Russian troops and their attempts to break through with sabotage and reconnaissance groups. This was stated by the head of the city military administration, Andriy Besedin, in an interview with the channel 'Apostrophe'.

“95% of the city is damaged or destroyed. Currently, there is not a single intact building in Kup'yansk, neither in the private sector nor in the multi-story buildings,” Besedin noted.

According to him, about 1700 civilians are experiencing difficult conditions, deprived of electricity, water, gas and communication, most of them are forced to live in basements. In total, 714 people remain in the right-bank part of the city, who are in difficult conditions. This poses a serious threat to their lives every second.

Ukrainian military at the forefront

Besedin emphasized that police and military are doing everything possible to evacuate residents of the city, but many of them refuse to leave their homes. He also confirmed the attempts of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter Kup'yansk in civilian clothing. Currently, a counter-sabotage operation is underway in the city, conducted by the Ukrainian military.

During the Russian aggression, the situation in Kup'yansk remains critical, the city has suffered significant destruction, and residents have been affected by instability and threats to life. The Ukrainian military continues the fight for the safety and lives of civilians, demonstrating courage and high professionalism.
