The Czech Republic made an unexpected decision regarding F-16s for Ukraine: details named

Ukrainian military pilots will be able to train on F-16 aircraft in the Czech Republic, as approved by the country's government. The state enterprise LOM Praha will take on the training of eight Ukrainian pilots over two years. The program includes 150 flight hours on F-16s, as well as the possibility of training on simulators and subsonic L-39 aircraft.



'Pilots will train on F-16 aircraft, which are not in the Czech army, but Ukrainians have also expressed interest in training on simulators and subsonic L-39 aircraft,' the Czech Ministry of Defense stated.


Funding for the program will be provided from the budget of the Czech Ministry of Defense, which allocated 32 million Czech crowns. The director of LOM Praha emphasized the enterprise's willingness to assist Ukraine in flight training, relying on its capabilities, know-how, and experience, which they are ready to utilize together with the Czech army.

Earlier, the United States also decided to provide F-16 aircraft to Ukraine, confirming the readiness for international cooperation for the benefit of the Ukrainian army.
