The Women's National Team of Ukraine in Volleyball suffered its second defeat at the 2025 World Championship, losing to Japan in the second round on a tiebreak (2:3 in sets). This was reported by Glavkom, citing Suspilne Sport.



In the opening match of this championship, Ukraine lost to the reigning world champion, the Serbian national team.



This time, the opponent of the Ukrainian team was Japan, which ranks fourth in the world volleyball players' ranking. The teams had not met before this match.

Initially, Ukraine won the first set with a score of 27:25, but then lost the next three sets with scores of 20:25, 20:25, 24:26. The Ukrainian team managed to earn its first point in the tournament, placing third in Group H behind Japan and Serbia.


Unfortunately, the next opponents for the Ukrainians will be Cameroon, with whom they will play in the final match of the group stage of the Women's World Championship 2025 in Volleyball.
