Kyiv and Vinnytsia Region Lead the Pack at Ukraine's National Youth Combined Events Championships

Ukrainian Youth Athletics Championships Held in Kyiv

The Ukrainian National Indoor Championships for combined events (pentathlon/heptathlon) for boys and girls born in 2013-2014 and younger took place in Kyiv from March 6th to 8th. Approximately 600 young athletes from 24 regions across Ukraine participated in the competition. These indoor championships are a key proving ground for the country's next generation of track and field stars.

Competition Winners

The team standings for cities and regions were determined with the following results:

  • 1st Place: Team from the City of Kyiv - 467 points
  • 2nd Place: Chernihiv Oblast - 413 points
  • 3rd Place: Kyiv Oblast - 404 points

Among Children and Youth Sports Schools (CYSS), the victory went to:

  • Chornomorsk CYSS from Odesa Oblast - 134 points
  • Pryluky CYSS from Chernihiv Oblast - 130 points
  • Pavlohrad City CYSS, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast - 114 points

In the category of Olympic Reserve Children and Youth Sports Schools (ORCYSS), first place was taken by:

  • Vinnytsia Oblast ORCYSS - 162 points
  • 'Start' CYSS from Kyiv - 156 points
  • Zhytomyr Oblast ORCYSS - 137 points

The Ukrainian Championships for athletes born in 2013-2014 and younger highlight the growing popularity of athletics among youth in Ukraine. The event served as a platform for identifying new talents who could form the foundation for future international success. The results demonstrated strong competition between regions, underscoring the importance of developing youth sports programs nationwide.
