‘Ridna’ Women’s Support Centers
In Ukraine’s Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions, the charitable organization Rokada has established the ‘Ridna’ women’s support centers. These centers bring professional assistance directly to local communities, removing the need for women to travel to regional capitals to access vital services. By early October 2026, nearly 3,000 women—2,912 to be exact—have received help through these initiatives.
While the physical locations of the ‘Ridna’ centers are still under development and preparation, the project has already gained momentum thanks to Rokada’s success in the Action for Women's Health competition, where the foundation was selected among 80 award-winning organizations. The next phase aims to open fully equipped regional hubs in major cities to expand the reach and impact of the program.
Services Offered at ‘Ridna’ Centers
Women visiting ‘Ridna’ centers have access to a broad spectrum of support, including:
- psychological counseling
- professional skills development
- mental health care
- support for community organizations and grassroots groups
- participation in cultural and social events
- psychoeducational workshops, webinars, and training sessions
Importantly, the centers welcome all women in need, without restricting services based on any specific vulnerability criteria.
The team tailors their programs to meet the unique needs of each participant. As project manager Iryna Korolchuk of Rokada explains,
“While we can’t walk the path for every woman, we can help her find the support she needs, rebuild her strength, and recognize opportunities for the next step. This is the core purpose of ‘Ridna.’”
By facilitating personal growth and professional development, ‘Ridna’ centers are helping to improve conditions for women across these regions. These centers represent a crucial advancement in providing accessible support and fostering community empowerment where resources are often limited.
Looking ahead, expanding physical spaces in regional centers will enable even more women to connect with tailored services and resources that meet their needs. This initiative not only offers direct assistance but also cultivates networks for sharing experiences and mutual support, essential for sustainable community development.
In addition to the support offered by the ‘Ridna’ centers, the Rokada Foundation is also actively addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in other regions. For instance, their recent initiative in Zaporizhzhia has transformed a shelter to accommodate individuals with mobility challenges, ensuring they receive the necessary support and comfort.
