Russia's night attack on Kyiv on October 25 dealt a powerful blow to the pharmaceutical sector — a warehouse complex and office of the company «Optima-Pharm», the second largest pharmaceutical distributor in Ukraine, were destroyed. According to preliminary estimates, the losses amount to about 100 million dollars. This is reported by Liga.net.

The warehouse was «completely destroyed». It served the central regions of the country, ensuring the supply of medicines to pharmacy chains and hospitals. «Optima-Pharm» officially confirmed the destruction and specified that the amount of losses is «close to one hundred million dollars».

Scale of destruction

  • The area of the destroyed warehouse reached 29,000 square meters — this data was published by the contracting company Volantis, which carried out electrical installation work on the site.

  • The complex was one of the key logistics centers of the company.

  • This is the second attack on «Optima-Pharm» facilities in the last two months — the previous one occurred on August 28, when the Russians shelled another warehouse in Kyiv.

Who is «Optima-Pharm»

The company has been operating in the Ukrainian market for 31 years and is the second-largest distributor of pharmaceutical products after «BaDM». According to Forbes Ukraine, the business belongs to Andriy Hubskiy, who owns 33% of the company and controls 12 pharmacy warehouses with a total area of over 70,000 square meters.

Although Hubskiy avoids publicity, his company remains a key player in the pharmaceutical market, ensuring the operation of a large part of pharmacy chains in Ukraine. The destruction of the central warehouse, according to experts, may temporarily complicate the supply of medicines to several regions, including Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Poltava.

Earlier we reported that on the night of October 25, Russian occupiers again massively attacked Ukraine, launching a strike on Kyiv. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force, the enemy fired 71 air attack means, including nine ballistic missiles and 62 drones.
