Shelling Forces Cancellation of Multiple Commuter Trains in Eastern Ukraine

Атаки призвели до скасування ряду потягів для пасажирів на сході України.

Commuter Train Cancellations and Delays Due to Hostile Shelling

Due to active enemy shelling, a number of commuter trains have been canceled or delayed in the Kharkiv, Poltava, and Sumy regions. Specifically, train #6291 from Oguiltsi to Poltava-Pivdenna and train #6354 from Poltava-Pivdenna to Oguiltsi will not run. Operational changes are also possible in the Sumy region due to the security situation.

Currently, train #6902 from Oguiltsi to Kharkiv is proceeding from the Liubotyn station with a one-hour delay. Train #7012/7011 from Poltava-Pivdenna to Sumy will run with a delay to Oguiltsi station. Schedules for trains #6013 from Sumy to Vorozhba and #6010 from Vorozhba to Okhtyrka are currently being worked out.

Attacks on Railway Transport

On March 14, the Russian army carried out a drone attack on a commuter train in the Kharkiv region. While passengers were not injured in the incident, the train driver and assistant driver sustained shrapnel wounds. The night before, in the Kryvyi Rih district, Russia struck a station area with a drone, damaging a locomotive. The locomotive crew was evacuated in advance, preventing serious consequences.

On the night of March 14, Russian forces launched a massive combined attack on the Kyiv region using drones and missiles. Several districts of the region were hit, resulting in casualties, with residential buildings and infrastructure damaged. The shelling situation remains tense, affecting railway operations in these regions. These disruptions to rail service highlight the ongoing impact of the war on civilian life and critical infrastructure across Ukraine.

This information points to escalating tensions in Ukraine due to aggressive actions by Russian forces, which continue to impact civilian infrastructure, particularly transport. The cancellations and delays of trains may complicate travel for civilians, which in turn could affect the economic situation in regions most affected by the conflict. The security situation remains critical, and further military actions could lead to new restrictions in the transport sector.
