Due to a storm warning: the largest flag of Ukraine has been lowered on a 90-meter flagpole

У зв'язку з попередженням про шторм: найбільший стяг України знято з 90-метрового флагштока.

Lowering of the Ukrainian Flag

On December 26, due to the forecasted deterioration of weather conditions, a decision was made to lower the largest flag of Ukraine located at the Memorial Complex 'National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II'. This decision was a result of the storm warning predicting wind gusts in Kyiv at a level of 15-20 meters per second and a yellow danger level.

Safety during Strong Winds

The flagpole, on which this magnificent flag is located, is almost 90 meters tall, and the flag itself weighs 32 tons and measures 16 by 24 meters. Lowering the flag became a necessary step to ensure safety, considering the strong winds that could threaten both the elements of the structure and the citizens.

This decision underlines the importance of ensuring safety during hazardous weather conditions, especially for objects that have significant height and mass. In conditions of a storm warning, responsible authorities take measures to prevent possible incidents, which can help preserve not only material assets but also human lives. Monitoring weather conditions and responding to them in a timely manner is critically important for ensuring safety in cities.
