Ukrainian cities are becoming less rich in birds from the Red Book - sparrows, swallows, and other rare representatives of the feathered fauna. According to ornithologist Alexander Ponomarenko, 454 bird species live in Ukraine, but many of them are disappearing. International organizations emphasize the importance of ecosystems for preserving bird diversity.

Military events in eastern Ukraine significantly affect birds, forcing them to seek new nesting places. Rare species will suffer the most, as their nesting colonies in the south of the country are under threat. The loss of control over certain territories endangers the existence of these species.

The Ukrainian bird world faces serious challenges due to the war and requires attention and measures to preserve biological diversity.
