Chinese diplomats and the secret service from Beijing were on the trail of the Vice President of Taiwan, Hsiao Bi-khim, in Prague, Czech Republic. They planned to carry out a diversion to interfere with the official's activities. This information came from spokesperson of the Czech military intelligence, Jan Pejšek, who reported on the observations of the representatives of the Chinese embassy in Prague during Hsiao Bi-khim's visit and meetings in March 2024. Thus, the Czech security service managed to prevent the provocation.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied the accusations and, on the contrary, accused the Czech Republic of interfering in its internal affairs due to Hsiao Bi-khim's visit. The fleets of the Great Power have begun large-scale exercises in the Taiwan area, calling them 'a strict warning.' According to Čespik, the US military is also preparing for a possible confrontation with China, making allies more cautious than ever. Chinese President Xi Jinping confidently asserts that 'reunion' with Taiwan is inevitable.
