Internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have left their homes due to the war and registered as unemployed can apply for state social assistance for low-income families. The Pension Fund of Ukraine explained the conditions and procedures for obtaining such payments. This is reported by Sud.ua.
Who can receive payments for low-income families
Assistance is designated for families whose average monthly income is below the subsistence minimum defined for the specific composition of the household. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decree from February 24, 2003, No. 250, payments are calculated for six months from the date of application. If the family retains the right to assistance, it is automatically extended for another six months. The amount of payments depends on the difference between the subsistence minimum for the family and its actual income.
Documents required for IDP-unemployed to apply for assistance for low-income families
To obtain assistance, IDP-unemployed persons need to submit an application and a package of documents. This can be done in several ways:
- In person at the service centers of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
- Online via the PFU web portal or the mobile application 'Pension Fund'.
- Through the 'Diia' portal.
- At local self-government bodies or TSNAP.
- By mail, sending documents to the address of the territorial body of the PFU.
The list of documents includes:
- An application in the established form.
- Identification document (passport or ID card).
- Income and property declaration.
- Income certificates (if necessary).
- Combatant's certificate (if available).
The PFU emphasizes that a complete set of documents will expedite the review of the application and the payment calculation. Delays may occur if an incomplete set is submitted or discrepancies are found. IDPs are advised to check the relevance of their data with the employment center before applying.
