Russia will not be able to use the direction through Transnistria for aggression, - State Border Guard Service
According to the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko, Russia has no opportunity to use the direction through Transnistria for aggression. Currently, no active movements or arrival of additional forces from the unrecognized territory have been recorded. He reported this in a comment to the television channel 'Suspilne', as reported by 'Glavkom'.
Demchenko explained that our side is constantly enhancing engineering structures in this section of the border to strengthen control and ensure the country's security. However, no active movement or fortification near the border of Ukraine has been recorded.
'Russia understands that from this direction it cannot achieve the necessary activity that would lead to results,' - summarized the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service.
Demchenko also emphasized that only at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022 there were minor movements of people. However, in the following years, particularly in 2023 and 2024, no actions from Transnistria occurred.
Plans for the reintegration of Transnistria by Moldova
It is reminded that Moldova, together with the European Union and the USA, is developing a plan for the return of the unrecognized Transnistria to the country. The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of Moldova Valeriu Kiver confirmed this initiative and stated that the plans for unification will be made public 'at the appropriate time.'
The Ukrainian border service asserts that Russia will not be able to use the direction through Transnistria for aggression. Currently, there are no active movements from the unrecognized territory, while Ukraine is constantly enhancing security measures at the border. The plans for the reintegration of Transnistria by Moldova have also been confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Kiver, who stated that the details of these plans will be revealed to the public at the appropriate time.
