Ukraine's Energy System 2026: Situation Before the Holidays
Despite stabilization, Ukraine's energy infrastructure continues to be affected by the war. Since 2022, Russia has regularly attacked power generation and transmission facilities.
During the heating season of 2025–2026, Ukraine recorded a significant power deficit, leading to the introduction of outage schedules in various regions.
However, with the onset of spring, the situation has partially improved due to increased generation, particularly from solar energy, as well as the stabilization of consumption.
The government emphasizes that the main task in the coming days is to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for Ukrainians during the holidays.
Recall that Putin has issued an order for a ceasefire on the front, which will be in effect on Easter from 16:00 on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026.
