The price of liquefied gas is rising again

The liquefied gas market in Ukraine is showing a price increase, with the average retail price rising by 2.01 UAH/l over the week, reaching 37.14 UAH/l. This increase is driven by several factors, including a shortage and an increase in wholesale prices for the product.

Factors for price increase

According to the latest data, the wholesale price of liquefied gas has increased by 4,910 UAH/ton. At the OKKO and WOG gas stations, prices have risen by 2 UAH/l, reaching 38.99 UAH/l. The state company 'Ukrnafta' has also updated its prices by 2.5–3 UAH/l, further contributing to the overall price rise.

The situation in the liquefied gas market indicates a growing gap between expensive and budget gas stations, which now stands at 4.43 UAH/l. Additionally, an announced increase in excise tax in January 2026 by 1.5 UAH/l is expected, which may lead to further price increases.

The increase in liquefied gas prices is a result of several circumstances, including temperature factors and logistical problems in the south of the country. In conditions of shortage and rising wholesale prices, the situation in the market remains tense. Whether there will be a 'rollback' in prices in the future remains unknown.

The rise in liquefied gas prices in Ukraine is an important topic, as it affects fuel costs for motorists and may have implications for the economy as a whole. In a context of rising wholesale prices and resource shortages, consumers should be prepared for further fluctuations in the market. This, in turn, could lead to an increase in the cost of other goods and services that use liquefied gas in their production or delivery.
