Chicken meat prices in Ukraine
Chicken meat prices in Ukraine have decreased by 20%, despite expectations of a price increase. This means that there is no significant rush expected for the New Year holidays. In the context of energy system instability, demand for chicken remains stable.
Wholesale price for a chicken carcass will be fixed within 85-90 hryvnias, while the retail price will be around 93-95 hryvnias. According to Serhii Karpenko, the selling prices for poultry meat are balancing at the cost threshold. This indicates that producers cannot raise prices as it may negatively affect sales.
Trends in the chicken meat market
Despite traditional trends leading to pre-New Year rush, this year is no exception. A trend of decreasing demand has been observed for the third consecutive year. Nataliya Saikivska pointed out that there will be no significant jump in prices before the New Year, which may positively impact consumers.
The most affordable parts of the chicken remain the whole carcass and quarter. This makes chicken meat an attractive option for the festive table in the current price situation. Thus, Ukrainians will be able to enjoy festive dishes without significant expenses.
The situation in the chicken meat market in Ukraine indicates price stability compared to previous years, which can be a positive factor for consumers during the holidays. The decrease in prices combined with the absence of a pre-New Year rush may indicate a change in consumer habits, as well as the market's adaptation to new economic realities. This may also affect producers, who are forced to seek new strategies to maintain competitiveness in the context of decreasing demand.
