Fuel Prices Surge in Ukraine: Latest Costs for Gasoline and Diesel

Ціни на паливо в Україні зростають: нові показники для бензину та дизельного пального

Ukrainian Fuel Prices as of April 15, 2026

As of April 15, 2026, fuel station networks across Ukraine have implemented new fuel prices. The average cost for A-95 gasoline is approximately 74.05 UAH per liter, while the price of diesel fuel has risen to 92.03 UAH per liter. This price increase has been enacted at stations operated by companies including Okko, Socar, Ukrnafta, and BRSM-Nafta. According to the data, diesel prices in Ukraine have surged by 33.9%.

'National Cashback' Support Program

To support consumers, the 'National Cashback' program is active in Ukraine from March 20 to May 1, 2026. This initiative provides a partial reimbursement for fuel expenses:

  • 15% on diesel
  • 10% on gasoline
  • 5% on autogas (LPG)

The maximum cashback amount is 1,000 UAH per person per month. This program reflects government efforts to mitigate the impact of rising energy costs on household budgets.

Pavlo Kyrylenko notes that 'the primary objective factor influencing the price increase is that since last year—specifically after the shutdown of the largest and essentially the only oil refinery in Ukraine—almost all light oil products, in a percentage equivalent of 85%+, depend on the import of oil products.'

Serhiy Kuyun assures that 'there is no diesel fuel shortage, nor is one anticipated.' According to him, diesel supply volumes in March remained at 2025 levels. This indicates a stable market situation despite the price growth.

Other factors contributing to the rise in fuel prices include:

  • Increased demand volumes
  • Reduced supply volumes and inventories
  • Higher costs for logistics services

Uncertainty regarding the conditions and volumes of fuel storage within Ukraine also plays a significant role in shaping pricing policy in the oil products market.

The rise in Ukrainian fuel prices highlights ongoing economic challenges, particularly the reliance on imported oil products following the halt in domestic refining. While the 'National Cashback' program aims to ease the financial burden on consumers, prolonged market instability could lead to further price fluctuations. Experts continue to monitor the situation to provide accurate forecasts for the development of Ukraine's oil products market.
