The head of the consulting company 'A-95' Serhiy Kuyn predicts that gasoline prices in Ukraine may reach 65-70 hryvnias per liter as early as October due to possible import restrictions on fuel from India. The expert emphasized that there is currently no expectation of a sudden price increase, but the increase in excise taxes from 2025 could lead to a rise in fuel prices by at least one hryvnia per liter.
Import restrictions from India
Experts indicate that a significant portion of imported fuel passes through the Romanian port of Constanta and originates from Turkey and India. If control over fuel from Indian refineries of Reliance Industries is tightened from the beginning of October, Ukrainian importers may face difficulties.
Forecasts and excise tax increases
Currently, the price of gasoline is 58.74 UAH per liter, while diesel is 55.86 UAH per liter. Experts note that despite the fact that a sharp increase in prices is not expected in October, the increase in excise tax next year may lead to a rise of one hryvnia per liter.
