Decline in tomato prices in Ukraine
Tomato prices in Ukraine have decreased by approximately 13% compared to last week. Currently, the cost of tomatoes ranges from 65 to 75 hryvnias per kilogram. This decline indicates a drop in retail prices, which has become noticeable for consumers.
Reasons for the price drop
Tomato producers note that the main reasons for the price drop are:
- decreased consumer demand;
- increased volume of imports.
It is also worth noting that imported tomatoes are sold for 10% less than during the same period last year, which may influence the overall market.
The majority of Ukrainian greenhouse farms have completed the current sales cycle, which may also contribute to the decrease in prices. Such changes in the market situation reflect a general trend that affects the agricultural sector in Ukraine.
The decline in tomato prices in Ukraine may indicate a change in consumer habits and the market's adaptation to new conditions. In the context of decreased demand and increased imports, Ukrainian producers face new challenges that may affect their profitability. The further development of the situation in the agricultural sector may depend on changes in consumer preferences and external economic conditions.
