Changes in Food Prices in Ukraine in 2026
Food prices in Ukraine at the beginning of 2026 may undergo significant changes after last year's increase, when inflation reached 11.8%. Both a decrease in dairy product prices and an increase in bread and egg prices are forecasted.
Milk production in Ukraine fell by 11% in November 2025, totaling 507 thousand tons. As a result, experts say there may be a shortage of dairy products, which will lead to a decrease in their value as producers' warehouses are full of cream and butter.
Against the backdrop of these changes, it is worth noting that prices for the traditional borscht vegetable set remain 80% lower compared to last year. However, it is forecasted that the price of bread may rise by 20% in the first quarter of 2026. As for egg prices, they increased by 4.3% in December 2025, with an expected rise of another 10% in January-February 2026.
Prospects and Impact on Household Budgets
A new round of price review may start as early as the first quarter of 2026, said expert Yuriy Duchenko. Ukrainians should be prepared for changes in the prices of essential food products, which, given the latest trends, may have a significant impact on their budget.

In conditions of high inflation and production fluctuations, consumers may feel significant pressure on their finances. This underscores the importance of monitoring the price situation and adapting household budgets to new market conditions.
