Ukraine Triumphs Again at the 2026 European Volleyball Championship
The Ukrainian men’s volleyball team has claimed its second consecutive victory at the 2026 European Championship, overpowering North Macedonia 3-0 in their second group stage match. This win has propelled Ukraine to the top of Group B with six points from two matches.

The match was decided in straight sets. Ukraine edged out the first set 25-22. They maintained a strong lead in the second set, opening 6-1 and closing again at 25-22. The third set was the most commanding, with Ukraine building a 17-5 lead and ultimately winning 25-10.
Oleh Plotnytsky led the scoreboard with 16 points. After two rounds, Ukraine holds a 2-0 record, six points, and a set difference of 6:1. Poland follows in second place within Group B, boasting one win, three points, and a set difference of 3:0, while Bulgaria stands third with the same record. Israel, Portugal, and North Macedonia have yet to earn any wins or points.
Ukraine’s next challenge is against Bulgaria on September 12 at 7:00 PM Kyiv time. Notably, Ukraine made headlines earlier in June 2026 by defeating Brazil for the first time in volleyball during the Nations League. Previously, at the 2023 Golden EuroLeague, Ukraine also beat North Macedonia 3-0. It’s worth noting that North Macedonia began their Euro 2026 campaign with a 0-3 loss to Bulgaria.
