Today, July 16, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the second reading and as a whole bill No. 13229, which amends the law 'On Military Duty and Military Service'. Currently, a law on military contracts for persons aged 60 and over has been introduced in Ukraine. This opens up opportunities for experienced specialists to work in positions in the Armed Forces solely on a voluntary basis. This initiative allows for the utilization of the extensive experience of individuals wishing to join military service.

Features of Contract Conclusion

Amendments to the legislation regarding military contracts have been made taking into account the age characteristics of each individual. A contract can be signed if there is fitness for military service according to the conclusion of the medical commission, the commander's consent, and the coordination of the relevant instances, depending on the position. This will allow utilizing this potential for the purposes of national security and defense.

The law will allow the use of the experience and knowledge of elderly people in non-combat positions in the Armed Forces, providing them with the opportunity to continue serving and benefiting the country.
