At a briefing by Acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine Artem Nekrasov, it was announced that due to daily shelling and problems with power grids in the country, it is impossible to cancel electricity outages. Currently, the energy system operates thanks to generation, electricity imports, and regional restrictions.

The Ukrainian government plans to release 800 MW of electrical capacity for distribution among consumers and is considering the development of distributed generation. An additional 300 MW is also expected to be introduced by the end of the year.

The authorities also stated that households and businesses have already installed solar power plants with a capacity of 1 GW, and support programs for citizens in the field of energy independence continue to operate.

“The energy system is currently balanced due to all available generation... cancellation of outage schedules is currently impossible”

“For this purpose, a working group at the Ministry of Energy has provided regional military administrations with a list of facilities that are not critical and should be transferred to general outage schedules”

Efforts by the authorities are aimed at ensuring the stability of energy supply under restrictions, which allows building trust among the population regarding the availability of electricity.
