Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Polish airports have become the main gateways for Ukrainians traveling abroad. Warsaw and Krakow remain the most popular, but more and more passengers are paying attention to alternative options. One of them is Wroclaw airport, which in 2026 turns out to be convenient and often cheaper for flights. This is what Visit Ukraine writes about.
Despite being further from the Ukrainian border, Wroclaw attracts with lower airfare prices, an expanded route network, and convenient logistics. For many travelers, the difference in travel time is only a few extra hours, while it allows substantial savings.
Wroclaw Airport for Ukrainians: main advantages
An analysis of European low-cost carriers' offerings shows that Wroclaw is actively increasing the number of flights. Ryanair and Wizz Air often offer cheaper rates from here than from Warsaw or Krakow.
For example, as of February 2026, a Wizz Air ticket from Warsaw to Catania costs from 179 zł (approximately 2,170 UAH), while from Wroclaw it is from 159 zł (about 1,930 UAH). With flexible planning, the price difference can be even more significant. Experts advise travelers not to limit themselves to the largest air hubs, as secondary airports in Poland often offer more favorable conditions.
