Over €3 Million Pledged by Four Nations for Ukraine’s Transport Sector

Чотири країни пообіцяли понад 3 мільйони євро для розвитку транспортної інфраструктури України.

Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-2026)

During the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC-2026) held in Gdańsk, representatives from the ministries of Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Sweden signed a declaration to back the Ukraine Transport Support Fund. This fund is designed to help rebuild and modernize the country’s war-affected transport infrastructure. Under the agreement, Lithuania, Sweden, and Norway will each contribute €1 million, while Estonia will provide €100,000. The money will go toward pilot projects chosen by the Ukrainian side. Lithuania’s Central Project Management Agency (CPMA) will handle the fund’s administration.

The declaration was signed by officials from:

  • the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine,
  • the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania,
  • the Ministry of Climate of Estonia,
  • the Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure of Sweden.

Lithuania announced a contribution of roughly €1 million, with Sweden and Norway making identical pledges. Estonia, for its part, committed €100,000.

Significance of the Ukraine Transport Support Fund

The resources raised through this fund will be used to implement pilot projects determined by Ukraine. Back in February 2026, Lithuania, Sweden, and Canada had already established an international fund to support Ukraine’s transport sector, tasking the Central Project Management Agency with coordination.

This initiative marks a critical step in bolstering Ukraine’s transport infrastructure as the country works to recover from the conflict.

The signing of the declaration at the URC-2026 conference underscores the strong international backing for Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts. Contributions from Lithuania, Sweden, Norway, and Estonia highlight the willingness of partner nations to support projects that can significantly improve the country’s transport system. Alongside existing initiatives, this fund could serve as a foundation for rebuilding and upgrading Ukraine’s transport network, which is essential for economic growth and deeper integration into European structures.

As Ukraine continues to prioritize the reconstruction of its essential infrastructure, it has recently announced a series of ambitious projects aimed at revitalizing the country post-conflict. These initiatives, valued at $5 billion, are designed to enhance various sectors and are crucial for long-term recovery.
