Ukrainian actress Daria Petrozhytska openly talked about the earnings of theater actors, touring life, and her personal expenses in Kyiv. According to her, a classic theater salary hardly allows for a comfortable life in the capital, so many actors seek additional sources of income. She stated this in an interview for the YouTube channel «Conversation».
Petrozhytska spoke about actors' salaries in the theater
The actress mentioned that while working at the Theater of Young Spectators, she earned about 1500 UAH, working half-time.
«I don't know how people just get by in the theater», — confessed Petrozhytska.
At the same time, she currently works mainly in a production theater, where payment depends not on the salary but on the number of performances. According to the actress, thanks to this format, she is able to live today.
Petrozhytska explained that in production theaters, actors are often invited primarily for their recognition and viewer interest in specific names.
The actress called life in Kyiv expensive even without extravagance
Daria Petrozhytska also shared her own living expenses in the capital. According to her, even a regular grocery shopping for a few days now costs approximately 3000 UAH.
«I am very economical», — emphasized the actress.
She mentioned that she tries to avoid unnecessary expenses, rarely buys new things, and even does not rush to change her phone due to the high cost of technology.
At the same time, the actress admitted that an important factor for her stability was having her own apartment in Kyiv.
The actress says that comfortable expenses depend on the lifestyle
Petrozhytska pointed out that she does not understand people who talk about needing tens of thousands of dollars for a comfortable life.
At the same time, she acknowledges that expenses significantly increase for families with children, especially when it comes to education and additional needs.
The actress added that she has been used to living frugally since childhood and always tries to have a financial «safety cushion» in case of job loss.
Previously, Aurika Rotaru named the pension amount and living expenses.
