According to the data from the State Bureau of Investigation, more than 800 decisions of the Medical-Social Expert Commission on granting disability to law enforcement officers and public servants have already been canceled.
According to information from the State Bureau of Investigation, the verifications became possible thanks to a decision of the National Security and Defense Council dated October 22, 2024. In November last year, an inter-agency working group of DBR, Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and other police agencies approved an action plan.
Currently, the verification of more than 70 public institutions and 2630 medical cases of officials is ongoing. Almost 2000 cases have been reviewed, and more than 800 decisions have already been canceled, or changes have been made to the group or term of disability in more than 400 cases. Nearly 100 officials underwent reassessment.
Most often, fictitious disability is оформляется to receive a pension and evade military service conscription. The largest number of canceled decisions concerns the employees of the State Customs and Tax Services, the prosecutor's office, and other law enforcement agencies.
DBR Director Oleksiy Sukachev noted that it is important to penalize any illegal actions among law enforcement officers and officials of public institutions.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers canceled more than 800 decisions on granting disability to employees of law enforcement agencies and public institutions due to fictitious situations. The conducted verifications showed a significant number of violations in this area, indicating the need for further control and transparency in the work of medical-social experts.
