Increase in expenditures for salaries in DBR
In 2026, expenditures for salaries in the State Bureau of Investigations will rise by 694 million UAH. This was reported by DBR communications advisor Tetiana Sapyian.
This money will primarily go to the salary fund of the increased staff – another 300 employees. 'In other words, additional resources are directed exclusively to people – those who protect the law every day and work for the safety of the state,' Sapyian noted.
She noted that the Verkhovna Rada made amendments to the legislation at the end of 2024, which increased the number of the Bureau from 1,600 people to 1,900 employees. 'In the conditions of martial law and the sharp increase in the number of criminal proceedings, we need to strengthen the team to effectively accomplish our tasks,' emphasized the DBR communications advisor.
Sapyian pointed out that during martial law, the number of criminal proceedings has increased. Therefore, for the DBR, the addition of 300 employees is a significant event in the establishment of the structure, which will strengthen the detection and investigation of offenses.
New colleagues are primarily aimed at strengthening the Territorial Agencies located in frontline regions and fulfilling their duties in Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kramatorsk, and Chernihiv. 'I believe you will agree that completing these divisions will enhance the Bureau's capabilities: there will be fewer offenses, and those who attempt to break the law will be detected and held accountable,' emphasized Tetiana Sapyian.
Increasing expenditures for salaries in the DBR is aimed at expanding the staff to strengthen the fight against offenses due to the increase in criminal proceedings and martial law. Additional resources will help enhance the Bureau's effectiveness and ensure the safety of the state.
