Procedure for handing over a summons during mobilization in Ukraine

Mobilization in Ukraine continues, and martial law is in effect, so it is important to know how to receive a summons. There are certain rules that must be followed.

Alyona Kryvoshea from the Cherkasy TCK explains that a summons can be issued not only by an official from the TCK, but also by local officials, heads of enterprises, and organizations.

As for the place of handing over the summons, the law does not limit it to a specific location. This means that the summons can be handed over anywhere — in a park, at a checkpoint, in another cozy place, or at home.

Requirements for citizens when receiving a summons

The law currently requires that citizens aged 18 to 60 have their military ticket with them and show it at the request of a representative of the TCK, police, or border service at the borders.

It is worth remembering that the handing over of the summons must be recorded in photo or video. Representatives of the TCK must provide their information and show identification.

A summons is considered handed over only after the person receives it and signs it. However, since last year, summonses may be sent by mail — in this case, it is considered that the person has received it, even if they have not appeared at the address.

A summons is an important document in the case of mobilization in Ukraine. It is important to follow the rules for its receipt and delivery according to the law.
