In Vinnytsia region, most of the water in the water supply networks meets the standards, but deviations have been recorded in some cities. Specialists checked hundreds of samples and identified problem areas. This is reported by the Vinnytsia regional center for disease control and prevention.

Water quality in Vinnytsia: inspection results

During the monitoring, experts examined 275 water samples from various settlements in the region. The analysis was conducted for bacteriological and sanitary-chemical indicators, as well as checking the radiation background.

According to the results:

  • 97.6% of samples meet the standards

  • 2.4% have deviations.

In most cases, the water remains safe for consumption, but there are still local problems.

Where the water does not meet the standards in 2026

Deviations were found in several cities of the region. Most often they are associated with organic impurities or increased content of dissolved substances.

Problematic settlements:

  • Vinnytsia

  • Khmilnyk

  • Kalynivka.

Here, an exceedance of the permanganate oxidation indicator was recorded, which may indicate organic water contamination or pipes.

Separately, in Mohyliv-Podilskyi, the following were detected:

  • increased water hardness

  • excess of dry residue.

This indicates a high concentration of dissolved substances.

Well inspection: what risks were identified

Separately, public sources in Vinnytsia were investigated. Of the 10 checked wells, some turned out to be unsuitable for use.

Main problems:

  • bacterial contamination

  • turbidity

  • excessive hardness

  • high level of nitrates.

This may pose a health risk, especially with regular consumption of such water.

Experts note that in general, the situation in the region remains controlled, and the level of radionuclides does not exceed normal limits.

Residents are advised to let water stand and boil it before consumption, and also, if possible, to use bottled or purified water. This will help reduce potential health risks.

Recall that on May 4, an accident occurred in Vinnytsia, as a result of which a 14-year-old Vinnytsia resident was electrocuted on the roof of an electric train.
