Expert Dismisses Rumors of Diesel Shortage in Ukraine, Citing Supply Data

Експерт спростував чутки про брак дизельного пального в Україні, посилаючись на дані поставок.

Claims of Diesel Fuel Shortage in Ukraine Refuted

Serhiy Kuyun, Director of the A-95 Consulting Group, has dismissed reports of a diesel fuel shortage in Ukraine. He stated that supply volumes for March remain at 2025 levels, and contracting for April is ongoing. As of today, March 23, 2026, an average of 40% of the required volumes for next month have already been reserved.

Kuyun noted that reports of a potential shortage stem from a misunderstanding of professional market analyses. He emphasized:

"Publications citing the A-95 Consulting Group are spreading claims of an alleged diesel shortage supposedly expected by the end of March. I declare: these publications are the result of a misinterpretation of the content of professional market reviews." - Serhiy Kuyun

He further clarified that suppliers confirm the availability of the remaining volumes, though the question of price remains.

Current State of the Diesel Fuel Market

Analyst estimates show that daily diesel fuel imports have increased by approximately 3%, reaching nearly 17,000 tons. As of March 23, 2026, the average price for A-95 gasoline is about 72.86 UAH per liter, while the average price for diesel fuel is approximately 83.89 UAH per liter. Kuyun also remarked:

"There is no shortage, nor is one anticipated. Moreover, there are no queues for diesel at 85 UAH, for some reason." - Serhiy Kuyun

Thus, the situation on Ukraine's diesel fuel market remains stable, despite rumors of potential supply difficulties. Maintaining stable fuel supplies is critical for the country's transportation and agricultural sectors.

Serhiy Kuyun's statements indicate that reports of a shortage are unfounded and that the diesel market is operating normally. The growth in imports and the advance reservation of volumes for April also demonstrate suppliers' readiness to meet market demand. These factors may help stabilize pricing in the near term, which is important for both consumers and the broader economy.

While the current diesel supply situation appears stable, it's essential to consider the implications for future imports. Recent analyses suggest that Ukraine's diesel fuel supply is secure until the end of March 2026, although uncertainties remain regarding subsequent shipments.
