The leading prosecutor of SAP has completed the pre-trial investigation into the head of the regional council and his wife. They are both suspected of failing to declare property worth over 8 million hryvnias. Currently, NABU is studying the materials of the case to later allow the defense to familiarize themselves with them.
Claim regarding the couple's assets
The case regarding the recognition of the couple's assets of nearly 5 million hryvnias as unfounded is with the VAKS. From 2021 to 2024, the couple acquired ownership worth that amount, but after examining their income and expenses, it was established that this was done illegally.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a lawful manner by a court.
As a result of the investigation, it can be concluded that the regional head and his wife are accused of failing to declare a large sum of money, and missing accurate information in their declarations. Also, they might have acquired property not from legal sources of income. The case will be further considered in court.
