After the end of the war in Ukraine, four territorial clusters may form, each of which will require an individual approach to development. The Director of the Institute of Demography of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ella Libanova, noted that these clusters will have different focuses, but careful work on their development will be necessary.
For example, in the northeast, it will be better to stimulate life and business due to proximity to Russia, particularly by emphasizing safe navigation in ports. In the west of the country, although there are environmental constraints, there is still potential for development, especially in the Lviv region.
“The question is not only what condition our ports will be in after the war. This is just the beginning. The most important thing is to ensure safe conditions for navigation,” emphasized Libanova.
In addition, it is important to prevent the division of the nation and support military migrants in returning to peaceful life. To achieve this, conditions for safe return, housing, and employment need to be created, avoiding conflicts and tension among other segments of the population.
All this shows that after the war, it is important to work not only on the restoration of material goods but also on the stabilization and political development of the country, supporting internal unity and addressing social issues.
