Ukrainian farmers receive billions: who will get government support

Фермери України отримують значну фінансову підтримку: кому дістануться державні кошті?

Today in Ukraine, we celebrate the Day of Agricultural Workers – a holiday for those who ensure the food security of the state and the world. It is a day of gratitude to all who work in the Ukrainian fields: farmers, agronomists, mechanics, animal husbandry specialists, elevator workers, scientists, managers, large producers, and small farmers, workers of processing enterprises.

The agricultural sector of Ukraine is the backbone and pride of the national economy, contributing 17% of the country's GDP and more than half of the foreign currency earnings. Every fifth Ukrainian works in agriculture, and Ukrainian agricultural products are represented in more than 150 countries around the world.

The Ukrainian land gives life even under shelling.

The government supports farmers by providing them access to loans, grants, and compensation for the purchase of modern machinery and equipment. These measures are aimed at supporting Ukrainian farmers and the development of agriculture for the future.

Support Programs for Ukrainian Farmers

  • Accessible loans "5–7–9%"

  • Grants for processing enterprises

  • Compensation of 25% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery and equipment

  • Grants for the development of gardening, berry growing, viticulture, and greenhouse farming

About 80% of government support is directed to farmers in frontline areas, where about 2 million hectares of land are cultivated. There are also government subsidy and compensation programs to support animal husbandry and land reclamation.

Ukrainian agriculture is implementing new technologies that help increase yield and efficiency in the use of resources, introducing precision farming, drones, field monitoring systems, and other innovative approaches.

In Ukraine, the Day of Agricultural Workers is celebrated as a holiday of support and gratitude to all who ensure the food security of the state and develop agriculture. Government support programs help Ukrainian farmers improve and modernize their farms, adopt new technologies, and enhance the quality of their products. On this day, it is important to honor all those who work in the fields – they are a class of patriots who make a significant contribution to the development of the economy and the well-being of the country.
