Today in Ukraine, we celebrate the professional holiday of military communicators - the Day of Communication Troops. This holiday was established in 2000 in honor of the military personnel who provide stable and reliable communication in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. History of the holiday
The holiday was established by a presidential decree on February 1, 2000, and is dedicated to August 8, 1920, when the preparation of communicators began in Kyiv. After the proclamation of independence in 1992, the coordination of communication system activities in the Armed Forces of Ukraine began.
“Considering the merits of the communication troops in strengthening the defense capability of the state, we establish in Ukraine a holiday - the Day of Communication Troops, which will be celebrated on August 8,” the decree of Leonid Kuchma states.
