Ukraine's 'BrightHome' Program Offers Up to 300,000 Hryvnias for Home Generators

Програма 'Яскравий Дім' в Україні надає фінансову підтримку для придбання генераторів до 300 тисяч гривень.

Introducing the 'BrightHome' State Program

Launched today, the 'BrightHome' state initiative provides funding for multi-apartment buildings to secure independent power sources during prolonged electricity blackouts. Applications are now being accepted online via the 'Diia' portal at svitlodim.gov.ua. This program is a direct response to the severe strain on Ukraine's energy infrastructure due to ongoing conflict. The state will provide grants ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 hryvnias for the purchase of generators, batteries, inverters, and solar panels.

Program Eligibility Criteria

The following entities are eligible to apply for this assistance:

  • Homeowners' associations (OSBB),
  • Housing cooperatives,
  • Property management companies of any ownership type.

To participate, applicants must open a special-purpose account with 'Oschadbank' or another participating bank. A commission under the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development will review and approve all applications.

The 'BrightHome' program will operate for the duration of martial law in communities officially recognized as experiencing an energy emergency. Initially, the program is available for Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Once an application is verified, funds will be transferred within 48 hours.

"We are launching 'BrightHome' – a support program for apartment buildings to achieve autonomous power supply during extended outages."

Yuliia Svyrydenko, Government Representative

She further emphasized that homeowners' associations, housing, and service cooperatives can apply online for financial support to purchase energy equipment that will keep essential life-support systems running.

More detailed information on the program's conditions is available on the website svitlodim.gov.ua.

The launch of 'BrightHome' marks a significant step toward ensuring uninterrupted electricity for residents of multi-story buildings during energy crises, particularly under martial law. By offering financial aid for critical equipment, the program aims to support communities hardest hit by power cuts, which can substantially improve living conditions and ensure stability in challenging times.
