Ukraine's State Employment Service has released its analysis of the most sought-after job vacancies among employers and job seekers for 2025. This data is crucial for Ukrainians looking for work and for companies needing to fill positions, providing a snapshot of the evolving labor market.

Most In-Demand Positions

The roles with the highest number of openings in 2025 are:

  • General laborers / Handymen
  • Food retail salespersons
  • Motor vehicle drivers

Specifically, employers are actively seeking to fill:

  • 19,200 vacancies for general laborers
  • Approximately 19,000 vacancies for food retail salespersons
  • Approximately 18,000 vacancies for drivers

These positions are also attracting significant interest from applicants. Nearly 21,000 applications were submitted for food retail salesperson roles, indicating high demand for this type of work. Around 18,000 applications were made for general laborer positions, and over 12,000 for sales consultant roles.

Meanwhile, employment rates for Ukrainians in Poland remain high, fluctuating between 75% and 85%, suggesting a strong demand for labor in the neighboring country. Furthermore, Panama has topped the ranking for the best countries for foreign workers to live and work for the second consecutive year, presenting another potential opportunity for Ukrainians considering employment abroad.

Consequently, 2025 is shaping up to be a dynamic year in the labor sector, with a clear focus on demand for manual labor, retail, and transportation services within Ukraine. The combination of domestic opportunities and favorable conditions for Ukrainian workers in countries like Poland and Panama could significantly influence labor market dynamics, offering choices between local and international employment.
